So nice I had to repost it… A new Soulman mixtape. I’ve been a fan of his cd’s for years, Coolin’ is one of my all-time favourite compilations ever.

This is another one of those mixes that’s been sitting around unfinished for a long azz time- probably a couple of these songs I wouldn’t have put on the mix if I did it yesterday just because I’ve heard them on too many other people’s mixes. But who cares… I like all the selections regardless if I heard them a hundred times before or if they’re still new to my ears. Like a wise dude once said, the truth is forever. Besides, I think it’s a pretty decent mosaic of uncommon and commonplace, rarefied and somewhat routine. Soul, psych, jazzy, modern, whatever’s clever.

I’m smiling because I bought a new sound card last week, a nice little matte black ProFire 610. (Anyone interested in an M-Audio Omnistudio USB btw? Works great in WinXP…) Couldn’t wait to try it out as you can imagine, so I picked up an ol’ Motown instrumental and made this here beat… Smiling. Oh yeah, the sub-title is there purely for typographic reasons.

Just heard this track on VIVA radio… Been a while since I heard it last. Ghost at his absolute best in my opinion. And so much better than the 8 Diagrams version.
